Bigger and Better by Pastor DeBo’rah Drayton Ward

Bigger and Better

A Caanite woman pleaded to Jesus to have mercy on her. Her daughter was possessed by a demon. The disciples urged Jesus to send her away. She was desperate for change in spite of the racism of their time. This mother’s faith super ceded societal discrimination, Mt 15:22-28.

In order to see justice in the present time, we must not give up. We must be determined to see equal fairness for all. God declares that anyone who trusts in Jesus is set free, Jn 8:36. God is the only one who can rectify and change social consciousness.

In Him we are also set free to do what is morally right and fair in our own lives and the lives of others. The “Bigger” our injustice issues, the “Better” the opportunities for us to seek and believe God for divine intervention and divine change.

Father move what needs to be moved; enhance what needs to be enhanced for Your glory. Show us what we need to surrender and make us consistent instruments of His Will. Thank You for the change in me, that pleases You O Lord. Love, justice and fairness.

Because God’s justice has set you free, how do you express equality for others? Will you ask God for opportunities to show you how to do for others what is merciful, right and fair to imitate our Savior Jesus Christ?
